Building a Common Data Standard for Campaign Finance Disclosure
It’s been said so many times it’s obvious and yet…
Did you know that many states are still using hard copy forms for collecting campaign finance data...and using that as an excuse for lack of transparency?! The technology exists for real time donor disclosure, so what’s the deal with the most basic of automation when handling this data? Join a panel of top disclosure and transparency advocates as they discuss the status of implementing common data standards and the friction that belies making this information accessible to the public.

Verifiable Election Technologies
Verifiable election technologies allow voters to check for themselves that their votes have been properly recorded and that all recorded votes have been properly counted. There is a wide variety of these so-called end-to-end (E2E) verifiable election systems which can be applied to many different voting scenarios – paper or electronic, poll site or remote, and even Internet voting (which a study by the U.S. Vote Foundation concluded should never be done without this technology).

This panel will offer some essential background and discuss several E2E-verifiable election systems that have been or are being built and deployed – along with their future prospects.
